Completely hand made by ceramist in China, and hand painted with traditional blue and white motif which was brought by the British to China in the early 18th century. The noble families of ancient China used large bowls such as ours to protect their pond gold fish from the freezing cold of winter. Used today as a cachepot, it gives a large plant a highly decorative place to put down roots. Hand painted blue and white lotus pond garden with frolicking animals. Top opening diameter is approximately 9″ dia.
