Potence Wall Lamp – Abat-Jour Conique

Potence is a wall lamp created by designer Jean Prouv and produced by the Vitra brand. Available in different finishes.

In the 1940s, Jean Prouv designed the Potence wall lamp for his home in Nancy. An inner desire to recreate a timeless lamp, from which it will be very difficult to separate oneself, led Prouv, through a simple work, to create a lamp with a unique and elegant design; whose main source of illumination is downwards, with a warm and welcoming tone. The materials are very well finished and refined, with the frame made of powder-coated tubular metal giving it a highly expressive overall appearance and the shade made of white brushed cotton fabric with plastic reinforcement. It can be combined with a furnishing style ranging from classic to modern. It lends itself well above a sideboard in a living room, on a bedside table or on a desk in a professional studio, always remaining the centre of attention.
