Terminus Floor Lamp
Terminus is a floor lamp designed by Martine Bedin and produced by the Memphis brand.
The Terminus lamp sets an intriguing and unique atmosphere in any space in which it resides. With a bold structure and unusual shape, this lamp describes itself as a sibylline presence, with a shape that recalls a fascinating being with an almost human-like appearance. It remains undaunted, peering at us with a silent but unceasing curiosity, returning a changing aesthetic experience that stimulates an interminable, though wordless, visual conversation. The Terminus lamp offers many more keys to interpretation than an ordinary illuminator. Its tall steel tube culminates in a hemispherical shade, defying design traditionalism and cautivizing the eye. Just like a lighthouse, it radiates its light in a softly diffused manner, creating an intense play of shadow and light that stands out powerfully in the surrounding space. What really sets the Terminus apart is its base; a rarity in lamps, an aspect that makes it unique. Made of painted steel sheet, it looks like a fantastic corpus, composed of four tubes that resemble legs, ending in four red domes. They look like feet or paws, perhaps of a fantastic creature, capable of bringing a breath of imagination and originality to any context, from the most minimal to the most sophisticated. A timeless symbol of design and inspiration, a tribute to Martine Bedin’s limitless creativity.
